How do I book, and how do I know if my date is free?

Call or WhatsApp and you will be told straight away whether the slot is open. To hold it, 25% of the total is taken as advance for studio bookings and 50% for venue bookings. It depends on whether you come to the studio or the artist comes to you, and the difference is large. At the studio, bridal runs ₹9,500 to ₹17,000 depending on finish — MAC, HD or airbrush — and on whether the booking is with Aashi or a senior artist. For a booking at your home or venue within Lucknow, bridal is ₹12,500 to ₹27,000, because the artist and the full kit travel to you and the day starts hours earlier. What is included with a makeup booking?

Buns, pins, flowers, hair accessories and false eyelashes are included, and coloured contact lenses are available on request. Do you come to my home or venue?

One thing to arrange at your end: a separate room to work in. Makeup cannot be done properly in a room full of guests, and the light in most bedrooms is the real constraint.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak muhurat dates in November, December and the spring season, three to six months ahead. Popular muhurat dates go first, so the earlier you ask the more likely your slot is still open.

What happens to my advance if I have to cancel?

The advance is not refundable, but it need not be lost. Tell us at least a week before and the booking can be postponed to another date subject to availability. Tell us at least a month before and the advance can be put towards other salon services instead.

Do you do groom makeup as well?

Yes. Groom makeup is matte and undetectable in person but stops the face flaring white under a photographer's flash, and it usually includes beard shaping and hair setting for the safa or pagdi. It is normally booked alongside the bridal booking on the same day.
